Morgan Hill, CA, June 2008 – The new Swivel Jack from Husky Towing Products makes hitching and unhitching a loaded trailer a “back-saving” experience. This heavy-duty jack is designed to mount onto various sizes of trailer tongues. The spring-loaded mechanism on the swivel side mount allows the jack to be rotated to a vertical use position; dual locking pins keep it in place. The offset swivel caster assembly ensures maximum maneuverability while the smooth operating side crank allows you to easily lift a loaded trailer into a hitching position or to unhitch a trailer from your vehicle.

The Swivel Jack has a weight capacity of 1000lbs with a total lift of up to 25” off the ground. Floating miter gears allow for proper clearance and easy operation. Morgan Hill, CA, February 2008 – Husky Towing Products introduces its new Weight Distribution Hitch and Sway Control Package. This package features a Weight Distribution Hitch rated for up to 14,000 lb. weight trailers; a Dual Friction Sway Control system, which diminishes the sway from windy conditions and from passing vehicles; a 2 5/16" Trailer Ball pre-assembled to the Weight Distribution Hitch; and a Sway Control Ball.

Morgan Hill, CA, December 2007 – Husky Towing Products introduces a new brake controller to its line of brake control products. The next generation Siberian has all of the basic function of Husky’s Excursion controller but takes braking control to the next level with enhanced features and a sleek new styling. The new features include User Presets, exclusive Pressure Sensitive Manual Braking, Enhanced Display graphics, and Soft-touch Controls.

The User Preset feature allows drivers to save their brake controller settings (Load Level and Output Gain) to one of four memory positions. The preset function is particularly convenient when: (1) the vehicle/trailer has multiple operators who prefer slightly different settings; (2) the operator has multiple trailers; (3) the operator tows a trailer that requires different settings when it is loaded/unloaded; (4) the operator encounters any combination of these scenarios.

The exclusive Pressure Sensitive Switch for manual trailer brake activation replaces the manual sliding lever common to other controllers. It allows the operator more finite control over the power being applied to the trailer brakes. The harder the button is pushed, the more power is applied.

An Enhanced Display Panel has been designed to support the Siberian’s advanced functions. Four green LED lights indicate the operator’s preset selections while a segmented LED shows the pressure being applied by the manual braking switch.

Two Soft-touch Controls replace a rotary knob to control Output Gain adjustments for Gain Increase (+) and for Gain Decrease (-).

The sleek compact styling of the Siberian makes it easily mounted to more locations inside the vehicle. It sports an integrated harness connector within its case for added plug-and-play convenience. A mating harness is also supplied with the controller, as are a custom slide-in mounting bracket, hardware and easy-to-follow installation instructions. A 30-amp circuit breaker (purchased separately), may be required for some vehicles.

Inherent to the new Siberian controller are technologies that made Husky’s original Excursion popular among trailer operators, including patented dual-axis accelerometer technology, which continually recognizes varying road terrain changes and senses the vehicle’s rate of deceleration to apply the correct amount of braking force at precise intervals for a smooth and seamless stop.

Morgan Hill, CA, May 2007 – Husky Towing Products introduces the Husky Stow-a-Fifth Wheel. The Stow-A-Fifth Wheel allows an easy interchange from a Husky Stowa-Gooseneck hitch to a fifth wheel hitch. The Stow-A-Fifth Wheel is designed as a set of base rails and can accommodate 15K, 16K, 18K and 20K Husky fifth wheel hitches. The Husky Stow-a-Fifth Wheel may require both the Adapter plus a Bed Support Kit, which is ordered separately for some applications.

Each Husky Training Trailer is equipped with hands-on displays of the Husky Towing product line and is manned by a full-time professional towing technician. The Husky Towing Technicians travel to Dealer locations to train the Dealers’ own technicians and parts employees in the safe installation and operation of towing products.

Husky began its Dealer Towing Training Program using training trailers in the spring of 2005.
